We are currently working on a complete website overhaul to make it easier for students, faculty, and staff to reserve a ticket. Tickets are limited to NC State affiliates only, limit one ticket per person. We hope to have ticket reservations up and running by September 29th. Thank you for your patience.
NC State GLBT Center
Starting this semester and going throughout the Spring, we will be offering a counseling group for interested students at the Counseling Center. The purpose will be for LGBTQQ folks to have a safe, confidential space to talk about any of life’s issues, worries, or woes. These can be academic pressure, roommate strife, and relationship concerns, etc. In addition, topics specific to non-heterosexuals will be encouraged… coming out, finding a partner, balancing the gay part of yourself, dating, image, spirituality, etc… The goal being to allow the members of the group to feel free to talk about anything on their mind without having to worry about censoring what you say and to bring together people that have the shared-experience of self -discovery as non-heterosexual individuals.
People interested in participating will agree to honor strict confidentiality of not only what is talked about in the group but also who is there. This provides a space for people who are in or out of the closet because only the members of the group will know what is discussed and who is there.
The group will meet once a week. We haven’t decided on a time yet so I will send gather availability as folks get in touch. Once the group starts no new members will be allowed to join in order to promote cohesiveness and members will need to make the commitment to attend each week’s group because people will begin to rely on one another. I will beginning the group in the next few weeks so please let me know if you are interested as soon as you can so we can set up a time to meet and discuss the group further.
If you are interested in participating in the group, please contact Richard Tyler at firstname.lastname@example.org
